11-12 February 2016 | Edinburgh

The workshop maps the potential of soft matter for application in energy-generation and energy-storage materials. Both soft and energy materials are core themes in the UK research landscape. Our vision is that only a synergistic approach can realize the full potential of both these themes.

We aim to attract a wide range of researchers from Chemistry, Physics, Engineering and Biology, working on themes including (but not limited to) solar cells, supercapacitors, fuel cells, porous materials, hydrates, (nano)composite materials and materials for renewable energy.

The main aim of this workshop is to break barriers between open-minded researchers from different disciplines, for example from soft and hard condensed matter and/or from fundamentals of materials and materials engineering, who are all pursuing the common goal of designing enhanced materials for energy applications.

This conference is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
